"The return makes one love the farewell"

Alfred de Musset's well-known quote "the return makes one love the farewell" suggests that when we depart from something or somebody we enjoy, we begin to value them a lot more when we return to them. Maybe its since when we leave something or somebody, we tend to concentrate on our own needs instead of theirs, however when we return we are advised of the value that they bring to our life. We miss what we have lost and think back on the memories we developed. It can be difficult to say goodbye, but in some cases it departs to recognize just how essential something remained in our lives.
