"There can be no daily democracy without daily citizenship"

This quote by Ralph Nader emphasizes the value of residents actively taking part in democracy. He is recommending that democracy can not exist without people engaging in it every day. This means that citizens should be notified and involved in the political process, and must be willing to do something about it to guarantee that their voices are heard. It also suggests that citizens need to be willing to hold their chosen authorities accountable and to make sure that their rights are appreciated. In other words, democracy requires people to be active and participated in order to be successful. Without citizens participating in the democratic procedure, democracy can not exist.
