M. C. Escher's quote speaks with the human desire to produce order out of turmoil. We are naturally drawn to mayhem because it is unforeseeable and exciting, however we also have a requirement to impose order on it. We wish to make sense of the turmoil and discover a method to control it. This is why we are so captivated by the concept of developing something out of nothing. We want to take the turmoil and turn it into something stunning and significant. We are driven to create order out of turmoil due to the fact that it provides us a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. We have the ability to take something that is disorderly and unpredictable and turn it into something that is organized and foreseeable. This is why we adore mayhem, because it gives us the opportunity to produce something out of absolutely nothing.
