"We had a big party that night and everybody went around gathering results from various precincts and each person would get four or five precincts and then come to the house. There were no cell phones or anything to get results phoned in early"

About this Quote

This quote is describing a time prior to the extensive use of mobile phone and other technology. It is explaining a time when people needed to physically go to the precincts to collect the outcomes of an election. Everybody at the party was assigned four or 5 precincts to go to and report back to your house with the results. This was a time-consuming process, as it required individuals to physically go to each precinct and collect the outcomes. It was also a very interesting time, as the results were not understood up until everyone had actually reported back to the house. This quote is a reminder of just how much technology has changed the way we receive details, and just how much easier it is to get details rapidly now.
