Sir Timothy John "Tim" Berners-Lee (born in London), also known as "TimBL" is an English computer scientist, MIT professor and the inventor of the World Wide Web. He is currently head of the World Wide Web Consortium, which represents the current development of the WWW.
He is the son of Conway Berners-Lee and Mary Lee Woods. His parents were both mathematicians were part of the team that built the Manchester Mark II, one of the earliest computers. They taught Timothy to use mathematics everywhere - even at the dinner table. Timothy went to Sheen Mount Primary School before he moved to Emanuel School in Wandsworth.
He is a student from Queens College (Oxford University). He built a computer with a soldering iron TTL gates, an M6800 processor and an old television. He was denied access to Oxford's computers after being taken into hacking with a friend. He worked for Plessey Telecommunications Limited in 1976 as a programmer and married his first wife, who was hired the same place. In 1978, he worked for D. G.
