This quote by Mark Twain is a pointer to not expect the world to offer us. We ought to not go around thinking that the world owes us something, since it does not. The world was here prior to us and it will be here after us. We must be grateful for the opportunities that the world provides us, but we should not expect it to provide us a living. We must take responsibility for our own lives and strive to achieve our goals. We must not rely on the world to supply us with whatever we need. We must make every effort to make our own method the world and be independent. This quote is a suggestion to be modest and to not anticipate the world to offer us free ride.
