We may have the ability to connect to the characters we play, however we should remember that our lives are not the same as the characters we represent. We may have the ability to make use of our own experiences to bring a particular level of realism to our efficiencies, but ultimately, we are just playing a role. We should remember that our lives are our own and that we have a minimal understanding of the lives of others. We need to bear in mind the reality that our efficiencies are simply that - efficiencies - and that we must not take them too seriously. We must keep in mind that our lives are our own which we must not attempt to live someone else's life.
